Following that I wandered back up to Westminster Abbey, truly one of the most magnificent structures I've ever seen.
Photography is forbidden inside the building, but there are plenty of amazing photos on the web.
A bit more walking around then I headed back to the hotel to get some work done. Yes, I said work. Although London is my pre-voyage vacation I still had just a few bits and bobs to tidy up before I report to the ship this weekend. But I was able to do that work in the "Front Room" of my hotel, so it wasn't too onerous. There may have been tea involved as well.
After a quick nap and ironing my suit, it was off to the Royal Opera House for a ballet by Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Mayerling, performed by the Royal Ballet. And I managed to snag the last remaining ticket in the Donald Gordon Grand Tier. Sweet!
Here's Paul Hamlyn Hall, also known as "Floral Hall," the main socializing space. That's a champagne bar that occupies the center of the room.
Afterwards I was dead bit, so a quick taxi back to the hotel and the day was done for me.
